Welcome to Norwich Writers’ Circle online. We are a writing group based in Norwich. We welcome writers of all genres, ages, experience, and skill level. Whether you’re just starting out, already published, or just looking to get out and meet new people, we’d be delighted to meet you.
The National Centre for Writing is based at Dragon Hall in Norwich. In 2012 we led the successful bid for the city to become England’s first UNESCO City of Literature, joining a prestigious and growing network of creative cities worldwide.
Creative Writing Online provides a range of online courses in collaboration with the National Centre for Writing, ranging from crime fiction, science fiction and scriptwriting to poetry and non-fiction. Founded in 2011, the Unthank School of Writing provides both face-to-face and online courses for writers working on short stories and novels as well as narrative non-fiction, lifewriting and memoirs. Our courses are open to anyone in the world.

The National Centre for Writing is based at the historic Dragon Hall in Norwich, where the newly constructed south wing will welcome some of the 20,000 young people we will engage for ambitious school projects in the next year. Workshops and mentoring will be available for writers at all levels, both face-to-face and online.
Venue: Norwich Arts Centre. We will begin this ten-week course by exploring practical ways to discover the writer within, and break down creative boundaries. Moving on, we will look at the basics of form, with close reading of examples from published writers.
In our MA Creative Writing (Poetry) we aim to support you in writing poetry of a publishable standard, and to create an encouraging but rigorous environment. You’ll join UEA’s renowned creative writing community in Norwich, a beautiful and historic UNESCO City of Literature.
